The American Legion’s primary focus is on service to veterans, service members, and communities. The American Legion was founded on four pillars: Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, Children and Youth, and was incorporated by Congress the same year as a patriotic veterans’ organization devoted to mutual helpfulness.
